DELICIOUS DRINKS THAT ARE BOTH GOOD AND GOOD FOR YOU!
1-2 oz pomegranate juice
1-2 oz cranberry juice
1 oz orange juice
lime juice to taste (I like about ½ a lime, but I love sour)
Unsweetened seltzer
Add a few mint leaves or a cinnamon stick to add an extra kick and to look pretty.
Make ahead ice cubes with one or more of the following, then mix and match the pretty colored cubes in your water for a deliciously simple drink this holiday season.
Homemade Apple Cinnamon Tea
Apples, Cinnamon Sticks, Lime Juice, Mint Leaves
-Chop up apples, add a cinnamon stick, and cover with boiling water for 15 min.
Healing Mojito Tea
-Boil ginger root slices in a pot of water until very fragrant.
-Turn off the fire and add honey and mint leaves, then let it steep for 10 min.
-Add fresh lime juice and enjoy!
-If you make a big pot, you might want to add the lime juice to your cup one serving at a time, because then you can reheat the tea without cooking the lime juice for servings enjoyed later on.
Berry No-jito
Coconut sugar, honey, agave, or other sweetener - to taste
Fresh mint leaves (8-10 large leaves)
Frozen or fresh berries
8-10 oz Seltzer water - Use lime or lemon, or use any flavor you like
-Combine the lime juice, honey or sugar, and mint leaves in a glass.
-Use a muddler or wooden spoon to stir vigorously for 1-2 min, allowing the mint leaves to release their juices into the mixture without breaking them into pieces.
*** (Or make a mint simple syrup ahead of time by pouring 1-2 oz hot water over mint leaves and sugar/honey/sweetener and letting it sit for 10-15 min. You want to cool this in the fridge before adding it to the lime juice.)
- Add the berries and an ounce of cold water and stir briefly to help release the berry flavor.
- Pour in the seltzer and enjoy
